The Grand Rapids Symphony was organized in 1930 and is recognized as one of America’s leading regional orchestras. Innovative programming and artistic excellence have brought both the orchestra and the West Michigan community widespread recognition. Called "a model for a middle-sized city's aspirations" by the Philadelphia Inquirer, the orchestra has earned the esteem of both audiences and peers. The Symphony's value to this community goes far beyond the music—it is the cultural cornerstone of West Michigan, helping to attract business, revenues and an educated workforce to the area. Further, the Grand Rapids Symphony is a valuable music education resource for the children of West Michigan.
Each year nearly 100,000 people attend the Grand Rapids Symphony's 80 ticketed concerts and more than 77,000 students, senior citizens, and people with disabilities benefited from the Symphony's extensive education and community service programs. The Symphony offers more than 300 educational services annually.
We are committed to providing an array of exciting concerts, educational and community programs for the diverse audiences of West Michigan and beyond. We rely upon contributions to the Annual Fund to support our innovative programming. Your tax-deductible contribution ensures that musical excellence remains accessible for all to enjoy. We ask for your support so that the Grand Rapids Symphony may continue its mission "to share great music that moves the human soul."
Your donation is crucial to the continuation of programs we offer each year. If you would like to make a donation or have questions regarding the Annual Fund, please contact Kelly Kinnear, Director of The Annual Fund, at 616-454-9451 ext. 123 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
