Deborah Gross
Deborah Gross became a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony in 1988 and was appointed Principal Keyboard in 1990. Prior to coming to Grand Rapids, Ms. Gross appeared as keyboardist for the Kansas City Philharmonic and the Colorado Music Festival. Ms. Gross has appeared as soloist with the Grand Rapids Symphony numerous times including appearances on the Symphonies Casual Classics, Family, and Pops series. She has also appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Reading, Hershey, and Curtis Symphonies. Deborah is currently the pianist for the Grand Rapids Symphony’s Piano Trio.
Ms. Gross has served as Adjunct Professor of Piano at Grand Valley State University. She was invited by the Gilmore Foundation to perform and lecture as part of the Foundation’s young musician’s events. An active accompanist, Ms. Gross has performed with such world-renowned artists as Maxim Vengerov and Adele Anthony. She has been the pianist for the Grand Rapids Symphony’s "Concert-a-la-Carte" series and served as accompanist for Opera Grand Rapids.
A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, Deborah is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music. Her major teachers included Eleanor Sokoloff and Susan Starr. She is married to Executive Director of the Lansing Symphony David Gross and they have a daughter, Lauren.
