David Prudon, Assistant Concertmaster, began playing part-time with the Grand Rapids Symphony in 1977 while obtaining his Master's degree in music performance from Michigan State University.  He became a full-time member of the orchestra as the Assistant Concertmaster in 1979.  Mr. Prudon has had the pleasure of working closely over the years with Grand Rapids Symphony Concertmasters:  Mike Antonello, Holly Marable, Harris Schilakovsky, Steve Smith, Marina Brubaker, Sungil Lee & Jamie Crawford.

As part of the Orchestra's educational outreach program, Mr. Prudon was the First Violin of the Dorian String Quartet for over 20 years, performing concerts throughout West Michigan.  He now plays violin & piano in his new ensemble, Beyond Classical, a group that plays not only classical music for children, but many other styles as well, including jazz, folk and Latin American music.

David lives on Cobb Lake, just north of Gun Lake, with his wife, Jayne Seymour, and their two daughters, Lindsey & Katie.
