Grand Rapids Symphony

Trombonist John Meyer joined the Grand Rapids Symphony in the 1990-91 season and was named principal trombone in 1997. He has played with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Opera Theater Orchestra, Detroit Chamber Winds, Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, Milwaukee Opera Company Orchestra, and Lansing Symphony Orchestra. He also has taught at Baylor University, Interlochen National Music Camp, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and Michigan State University. Mr. Meyer is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in music education and a master's degree in applied trombone.
