Heather Storeng
VIOLA
Heather Storeng is in her twelfth season with the Grand Rapids Symphony as a member of the viola section. Previously she was a member of the Harrisburg Symphony in Pennsylvania, and a faculty member of the Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore, Maryland. She has also performed with the Baltimore Symphony and the Detroit Symphony. Heather is a member of the quartet Pernambuco 4 which brings music education to school children all over West Michigan. The group performs a program featuring “Princess Viola” which she wrote, that invites children to use their imagination as they participate in a fairy-tale adventure and learn about the instruments in a string quartet.

Along with the full-time work in the symphony, Heather is active in teaching and coaching sectionals for both violin and viola students in the Grand Rapids area. She finds the art of both performing and teaching to be enormously satisfying.
