Grand Rapids Symphony

Susan Belliel has been playing in the Grand Rapids Symphony since 1993. She has also played in West Shore, Lansing and Kalamazoo symphonies. She graduated from Calvin in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in music education. At Calvin, she was concertmaster of their orchestra and also soloed with the orchestra. She was one of the winners in a concerto competition and also received many music scholarships and awards.

Susan began studying the violin when she was seven. She taught for several years but now stays home during the day to raise her three children: Stevie, Jessica and Adrianna.

Susan also plays in country, jazz, and bluegrass bands. During the summer of 2002, she performed in the Detroit and Montreaux jazz festivals with the Chris Collins jazz group. They performed many of the songs off their cd, "Jazz from the Shamrock Shore."
