Women’s Committee

The Grand Rapids Symphony Women’s Committee was founded in 1941 to promote and support the growth of the Grand Rapids Symphony and to further the appreciation and understanding of classical music.
 
We would like to invite West Michigan women of all ages who enjoy good music to join Women’s Committee. It’s fun and your involvement will help support the Grand Rapids Symphony.

MEMBERSHIP ADVANTAGES

  • Friendships are fostered and members have an opportunity to get acquainted with Music Director David Lockington and Symphony President Melia Tourangeau, as well as symphony staff, musicians and guest artists.
  • Five membership meetings per year featuring a concert preview, a performance by guest artists, a business meeting and lunch or refreshments.

November 15, 2007: Members meeting at UICA downtown
January 17, 2008: Members meeting at Fountain Street Church
March 13, 2008: Members meeting at Integrated Architecture
March 13, 2008: Grand Finale Raffle II tenative kick-off
May 15, 2008: Members luncheon and meeting at Kent Country Club

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
  • ACTIVE MEMBER [$30/year]
    • Members agree to serve on at least one committee during the current year.
    • Members are expected to support fund-raising events.
  • SUSTAINING MEMBER [$60/year]
    • Sustaining members may serve on committees if they choose.
  • LIFE MEMBER [one-time $500 membership fee]
    • Life members enjoy the benefits of Women’s Committee for life.
    • Life members choose to be or not be active on committees.

* Season tickets are a vital source of revenue for the Symphony. Though not required, Women’s Committee members are encouraged to buy season tickets to one of the Symphony’s concert series
