It’s Downtown!
Downtown Grand Rapids is undergoing a Renaissance. Founded as a trading post in the 1820s, the City was incorporated in 1850 and grew steadily through the latter half of the 19th century, eventually becoming America’s “Furniture City”.
Over the past decade, with the addition of the DeVos Place Convention center, dozens of restaurants, bars and shops and an outdoor amphitheater, the central city has become an entertainment, financial and health services hub for the region.
