The Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus, Youth Chorus and five vocal soloists join the orchestra to present To Be Certain of the Dawn, an acclaimed, large-scale Holocaust memorial oratorio. The powerful piece, written to bring understanding, conveys a message of hope and forgiveness. Inspired by photographs taken prior to the Holocaust, the work tells the story of faith and hope through the eyes of children.

Also on the program: Mendelssohn's fifth symphony which recalls the Protestant Reformation and includes Martin Luther's chorale, A Mighty Fortress is our God.
