Explore the evolution of orchestral music with an intimate look at the Baroque period. St. Cecilia's Royce Auditorium offers a beautiful backdrop for this elegant concert, perfect for your Valentine's Day celebrations.

This concert presents eight works from six different composers. Taking a cue from the Valentine’s Day holiday, many of the program’s pieces were inspired by love. J.S. Bach’s Air and Pachelbel’s Canon in D are commonly heard at wedding ceremonies, Lully’s Le Triomph de l’Amour is from a ballet whose title translates to “The Triumph of Love” and Purcell’s Overture to Dido and Aeneas is from an opera that recounts a tale of love and heartbreak.
